The main reason why American moms follow company brands on Twitter is not only to search for coupons and deals. This statement, which goes against the conclusion reached by a number of recent market surveys, comes from a research carried out by the Lucid Marketing portal, which was published as an article on eMarketer. The research revealed that for 68,3% of the women interviewed, content comes first. The second reason for following company brands, claimed by 67,3% of women, is simply to state that they use a certain brand. The third main reason, with 66,9%, is in order to learn more about the products and services offered by the company.

Interesting types of content have become important for marketing professionals who wish to take advantage of the power of word of mouth among moms, who, just like the majority of Twitter users, prefer to retweet rather than to create new messages.

The survey carried out by Sophia Mind on Moms & Internet also revealed that besides using the Internet to keep in touch with friends and family, moms are also looking for interesting content, topics, news, and, unlike women who do not have children, they look more for information on products and services.

Moms are turned off by uninteresting contents, and that is the main reason why they stop following a certain company.

Regarding their behavior online, it has been observed that 75% of users post ten or less tweets a day, and check twice a day for new messages.

Also, the majority of moms access the service through their mobile connection.
